Nine Students Receive Press Releases ® Scholarships
ARLINGTON, Va. – Nine local high school seniors were selected to receive $2,500 awards from the National Merit Scholarship program; the awards were sponsored by General Dynamics (NYSE: GD). The scholarship recipients are:

- Charles Cheng of Dayton, Ohio
- Cheryl Foil of Fairfax, Va.
- Keilor Kastella of Gregory, Mich.
- Rachel Miller of Annandale, Va.
- Robert Moffatt of Reston, Va.
- Kirsten Peterson of Windsor, Mass.
- Jonathan Wiggins of Springfield, Va.
- Jennifer Williams of Greensboro, N.C.
The students are children of General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems employees.
The National Merit Scholarship Award is given by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, a non-profit organization that honors the nation’s scholastics champions and encourages academic excellence at all levels of education. Every year, more than one million high school students participate in the National Merit Scholarship program. Only 15,000 are selected to receive the cash awards based on scores from their Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) tests, personal essays and recommendations from their high-school teachers and administrators. Merit Scholarship winners are the award candidates judged to have the strongest combination of academic skills and achievements, extracurricular accomplishments, and potential for success in rigorous college studies.
