General Dynamics Advanced Information System's Information Sharing Infrastructure (ISI) provides federal, state and local law enforcement agencies the ability to exchange information easily. It fuses data extracted from the participating organizations' legacy systems into a single, centralized data warehouse.
Analysts and investigators can query this data warehouse to quickly generate leads and intelligence based on previously unavailable information from neighboring jurisdictions. Commonalities between seemingly unrelated investigations can be quickly identified when geospatial mapping and link analysis tools are used to display query results.
The ISI supports the discovery of new relationships, patterns and predictors that are embedded in the data. Law enforcement officers use link analysis tools to discover new links between known suspects and other individuals in area law enforcement records. Geographic information is used to provide insight into criminal patterns and patterns associated with illegal activities can be derived.
Personalized versions of Information Sharing Infrastructure alert users when newly entered suspect data matches or partially matches suspect data.
The Information Sharing Infrastructure system provides an intuitive graphical user interface which allows users to search data in the warehouse for specific terms and phrases using internet search engine-style queries. Users can also search for specific people, locations, weapons or vehicles using one of several rapid-access, structured search screens. The interface allows users to set up search folders containing a series of search terms pertaining to a particular investigation. These folders can be used to run the same query repeatedly over time or can be set up to run automatically each time new data is loaded into the system.
