The Virtual Extended Markup Language (VXML) is a content software management tool that allows users to store and retrieve large volumes of technical documentation electronically. VXML is based on technology developed for the Air Force Common Viewer program under a contract with the U.S. Air Force.

VXML provides easy access to critical information. Its simplified distribution and document management capability results in substantial savings in time and money as well as facilitates timely updates to technical documents.

Designed to improve access to critical information, VXML is comprised of the following components:

• SGML Document Migration Tool
• VXML Viewing Services
• Lightweight Viewing Client using the free Internet Explorer browser with plug-ins such as the VXML Annotator and a graphics viewer
